Dawn Benson
Sculptor and Painter, Dawn Benson was born in Montreal in 1952, educated Thames Valley Grammar School. Studied: Twickenham College 1970-74 (Stan Smith and Osmund Caine), Goldsmiths p/t 1976-78, Richmond College 1989-94.
Exhibits London and rest of UK, work in collections throughout the world. Commissions London, Amsterdam, Italy, NZ, USA.
Dawn’s sculpture is stylised figurative and relationship based. It is produced in bronze primarily. A mother herself, much of her inspiration is drawn from her own experiences, relationships and feelings. Initially Dawn works to a small scale but work can be scaled up to produce large outdoor pieces. A lot of the pieces are horse and child relationships, which is what Dawn is well known for. Dawn exhibits in galleries all over the UK.
