Emma Franc

Drawn to atmospheric places as diverse as the theatre, museums, old warehouses and abandoned playgrounds, Emma enjoys experimenting with textured surfaces showing a light source coming through from within the picture. Performance and the theatre are recurring themes in the work, whether it be a figure in an interior that is brought to life by a theatre set lit up around it, or objects in a still life from a scene in an antiques shop taking centre stage. Playful and sometimes brooding, these works are intriguing and exciting. Since studying for her Masters in Painting at Wimbledon School of Art, she has exhibited in galleries mainly in London and the South East, where she also lives.
